Working together to improve range of motion for patients following total knee replacement
Salt Lake City, Utah – LDD Partners, a strategic consulting firm and business accelerator, announced that Utah-based medical device innovation company Promotus LLC has joined its select group of local start-ups.
Promotus has developed KneeMD™, the first patient-controlled knee rehabilitation device for improving range of motion and stretch in extension following total knee replacement and other major knee surgeries. Endorsed by world-renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Richard Steadman, KneeMD is already the medical device of choice for surgeons, physical therapists and patients during the critical post-operative rehabilitation period when excessive scar tissue formation can lead to painful or restricted knee motion. KneeMD has already helped rehabilitate world class professional athletes in football, baseball, basketball and skiing. As part of the LDD Partners Accelerator Program, Promotus plans to introduce KneeMD to physician offices and physical therapy clinics nationwide.

A portable, patient-controlled device, KneeMD makes it easy for patients to take charge of improvements in their range of motion after knee surgery or knee injuries that lead to extension deficits. Using KneeMD, patients can simulate the range of motion and stretch exercises that physical therapists perform during formal therapy sessions on their own. This allows patients to adjust the frequency, duration and intensity of rehabilitation to minimize pain and maximize functional gain.
